Musical Director

Martin Everett (Musical Director) began his musical studies as Organ Scholar at Magdalene College, Cambridge. He went on to the Royal Academy of Music, and later took a Master’s degree in Music at the University of Surrey, undertaking research into the earliest versions of Handel’s Messiah and the songs of Philip Radcliffe.

Martin's connection with the South West London Choral Society goes back almost as far as he can remember, since his parents were both members of the choir in the late 1950s. He became the choir's accompanist in 1969 and has worked with them continuously since then, as Musical Director since 1983. He now works as conductor, organist, harpsichordist, compo.
